# Lost Vape UB Max coil range, read in figures

> The Lost Vape UB Max coil range in figures, from X1 to X3, with wattage ranges, the gaps between spec sheets and the mod needed to run them.

From 80 to 100 W on one sheet, from 80 to 120 W on the next, and sometimes a fourth value the maker never mentions. Each **UB Max coil** from Lost Vape is built for the Centaurus tanks and several of the brand's larger mods, yet the figures do not travel intact from one page to another. Setting a mod correctly and tracking how these mesh heads wear starts with sorting what comes from Lost Vape from what comes from the shops.

## UB Max coil values, the three figures from Lost Vape

Lost Vape publishes three **UB Max coils**, all of them mesh. On the official platform page, each one appears with its resistance, its wire and its power range.

| Reference | Resistance | Wire | Range stated on the platform page |
|---|---|---|---|
| UB Max X1 | 0.15 ohm | Ni80 mesh | 80 to 120 W |
| UB Max X2 | 0.2 ohm | Ni80 mesh | 60 to 80 W |
| UB Max X3 | 0.3 ohm | KTR mesh | 40 to 60 W |

According to the retailers that detail the wire, the KTR used on the X3 is a kanthal. Packs hold three heads, a format the retailer listings consulted agree on.

The three ranges follow one another without overlapping and meet at 60 W, then at 80 W. Power demand rises as resistance falls. The X3 and the X2 each cover a 20 W band, while the X1 covers a 40 W band on that page. Picking a value is therefore first a matter of picking a power band, and that band depends on what the mod can deliver.

## The X1, a range that changes from page to page

On the X1, the figures diverge even at the maker. This gap comes from the V2 edition of the coil, supplied with recent kits, and from the way each official page describes it.

### 80 to 120 W or 80 to 100 W

The UB Max platform page, illustrated with the first generation, gives 80 to 120 W for the X1. The sheet for the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 tank, which describes the V2 edition, brings that ceiling down to 100 W while leaving the X2 and X3 ranges unchanged. On the sheet for the Centaurus BT200 mod, the same V2 edition is back at 80 to 120 W.

Retailers repeat one version or the other. Among the European listings consulted, some give 80 to 100 W and others 80 to 120 W. One even shows 80 to 90 W in its key-points box, which contradicts its own description.

### The common band, from 80 to 100 W

Across those versions, one band holds everywhere. Between 80 and 100 W, the X1 sits inside the range stated by every official page, V2 edition included. Above 100 W, only some of the sheets cover the setting.

For an X1 V2, the documentation supplied with the coil is therefore the reference before going past 100 W.

## What listings add to the UB Max coil figures

Beyond power ranges, two more gaps appear when the sheets are compared. The first comes from retailers, the second from the maker itself.

### A 0.4 ohm missing from the official catalogue

Two retailers list a fourth value, a 0.4 ohm called X or X4 depending on the shop, one of them with a range of 30 to 40 W. None of the Lost Vape pages consulted mention it. The UB Max platform counts three references there, and the sheets for the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2, the Thelema Solo 100 Pro and the Thelema Q200 Pro list compatibility with three values only, 0.15, 0.2 and 0.3 ohm.

Before choosing a 0.4 ohm sold under that name, it is worth checking the exact reference on the packaging and its stated compatibility with the tank.

### The two coils supplied with the kits

Recent kits come with two UB Max V2 coils. The Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 sold on its own and the Thelema Q200 Pro list the same pair in the box, an X1 at 0.15 ohm and an X3 at 0.3 ohm.

The Centaurus BT200 sheet contradicts itself on this point. Its text mentions a 0.15 and a 0.2 ohm, while the box contents, for the international version and the TPD version alike, list a 0.15 and a 0.3 ohm. With that pair, the 0.2 ohm X2, which sits between the other two, has to be bought separately.

## Which mod can run the UB Max coils

The range of each value can also be read the other way round, starting from the mod's maximum output. That ceiling decides which coils can be used across their whole range and which only run at the very bottom of theirs.

### The grid by maximum output

Setting the ranges published by Lost Vape against four power ceilings gives the following grid.

| Mod's maximum output | Usable across the whole range | Usable at the floor only |
|---|---|---|
| 60 W | X3 | X2, at 60 W |
| 80 W | X3 and X2 | X1, at 80 W |
| 100 W | X3, X2 and X1 within the common band | none |
| 120 W or more | all three, whichever sheet applies | none |

Lost Vape itself pairs the UB Max range with mods that cover these steps. The Thelema Solo 100 Pro tops out at 100 W, which places the X1 in the common band. The Thelema Q200 Pro and the Centaurus BT200 reach 200 W on two 18650 cells, well beyond the highest range. A mod capped below 80 W only makes use of the X3 and the floor of the X2.

The reasoning matches our [look at the Vaporesso iTank T and its GTi coils](/uk/vaporesso-itank-t-numbers/), where each value first sets a power band.

### The tank that takes the coil

UB Max heads fit the Centaurus Sub Ohm tank, its V2 version and the UB Max Pod Tank, according to the maker's pages. The Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 sheet gives 5 ml or 3 ml depending on the glass, and 2 ml for all TPD versions.

In the UK, the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016 limit a refillable tank to 2 ml, so the 2 ml TPD version is the one that fits the British market. The Thelema Solo 100 Pro sheet gives that version a diameter of 26.8 mm, a figure to set against the width of the mod's top plate, as our [look at the Eleaf iStick Pico](/uk/eleaf-istick-pico-mod/) points out.

## A tracking log for each UB Max coil

The maker's ranges only mean something next to the actual setting. A log kept coil after coil places the hardware where it belongs and shows when a head is due for replacement.

| Marker | Reference value | What to note |
|---|---|---|
| Coil fitted | X1, X2 or X3, first generation or V2 | the reference printed on the packaging |
| Wattage set | the range of the fitted value | the setting actually used |
| First use | to be dated by the user | the fitting date |
| Replacement | the signs of wear | the date and the sign observed |

Noting the edition matters more on this range than on most. An X1 V2 set at 110 W falls outside the range stated on the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2 sheet, yet stays inside the one on the BT200 sheet. The log keeps a record of which sheet was followed when the setting was chosen.

Signs of wear show up as fading flavour, falling vapour production or a burnt taste. Once dated, each of those signs turns an impression into an indicator that can be compared from one coil to the next.

## FAQ

The questions below deal with getting started on the coils and add to the figures covered above.

### Which e-liquid suits a UB Max coil?

A liquid high in vegetable glycerine. The retailer listings consulted advise at least 50% VG, and one of them recommends 70/30 for the X1 and X2. In the UK, nicotine-containing e-liquid is capped at 20 mg/ml and sold in bottles of no more than 10 ml. A very sweet recipe generally clogs the wick sooner.

### Are UB Max coils suited to a tight draw?

No. Lost Vape lists each of the three values for direct-to-lung use only, where vapour goes straight to the lungs. A tight mouth-to-lung draw belongs to other coils in the brand's catalogue.

### How should a new UB Max coil be primed?

A few drops of liquid on the exposed cotton, then filling the tank and waiting 5 to 10 minutes, according to retailer listings. Starting at the bottom of the stated range before moving up lowers the risk of a burnt taste.

### How is a UB Max coil fitted?

By pressing it in, with no thread. The head pushes into the base of the tank, which removes any risk of cross-threading.

### How long does a UB Max coil last?

Lost Vape does not publish a lifespan. Retailer listings suggest one to four weeks depending on wattage, liquid and how often the device is used, a spread that makes dating each replacement worthwhile.

## UB Max coil figures worth keeping

Three figures are enough to place these mesh heads. The resistance sets a power band, the mod's maximum output shows whether that band is within reach, and the coil's edition tells which sheet to follow for the X1.

For any **UB Max coil**, the method applies beyond this range. Official pages are compared with each other, then with shop listings, then with one's own log, and that cross-reading of indicators is what makes it possible to track a piece of hardware over time.
